Gorgeous Paris Engagement Photos
What started as a typical styled shoot collaboration became one of the most beautiful and romantic sessions I’ve captured to date! These gorgeous Paris engagement photos came to be because my husband was going to be in Switzerland for work (shooting a TV show about the origins of chocolate…which meant going to artisanal shops and famous factories) and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to visit him on the road…and partake in all of the chocolate, fondue and local wine I could get my hands on.
When I planned out my trip, I found that flights to Paris and a train to Zurich was much less expensive so I figured I should make the most if it, spend a couple of nights there and plan a shoot with other local vendors.

The Love Story Behind the Engagement Photos
After I posted a call for models in Paris, Julia and Lyes reached out. The pair met when Julia stayed at Lyes’ AirBnB in Paris for a single night, but that was all it took for him to know that she was the one! He offered to show her around the city, which essentially became their first date. Julia had to leave Paris to continue with her travels but the two of them kept in touch and a relationship quickly blossomed.

Their love story continued to develop and they eventually moved in together. It was on a warm summer’s night in 2017 when Lyes proposed to Julia in the kitchen of their Parisian flat. However, while I planned to put together a styled “engagement” shoot, I was totally unaware that they were actually engaged and these pictures were going to serve as their official photos!

Best Locations for Paris Engagement Photos
Paris isn’t short on gorgeous locations for a romantic engagement session, so it was hard to narrow down on where to go! It was decided that the Eiffel Tower definitely needed to be in the background of some photos, and also the grounds around the Louvre would provide a more intimate environment away from flocks of tourists. It was such an incredible day celebrating the love and actual engagement of Julia and Lyes and the perfect way to fill my stop on my trip to Switzerland!

Entirely flowerless (yes, zero flowers used!), she instead incorporated unexpected “ingredients” of ivy berries, purple and green artichokes, cauliflower florets, cotton flowers, rosemary, thyme, and finally, some green and purple foliage.
